Relational distress can be all consuming. It can interfere with your mental, physical and emotional health and leave you feeling lost, hurt, angry and despairing. If you are struggling in relationships - with a partner, family member, loved one or friend - you are likely experiencing a lot of internal stress. It may be keeping you up at night, preoccupying your thoughts, creating feelings of anxiety, anger and depression, and impacting your mood or performance in other areas. You may feel stuck and lonely and unable to draw on strategies that increase your relational confidence.
My speciality is relational health. I help partners who are tired of repeating the same arguments without finding resolution; those who are recovering from infidelity or who want to improve their intimacy and sexuality. I work with couples at various stages of their relational life- from pre-martial to long-term partnership; from young parents to empty nesters; to retirees and partners navigating through their golden years.
I also collaborate with families who want to learn new ways of relating, particularly through different seasons of life and the challenges they bring, such as developing supportive relationships with teenagers and young adults, healing rifts in family relationships, caring for aging elders and integrating blended families.
I work with individuals who are struggling with finding a healthy relationship or who are recovering from relationship loss - those who have been hurt in relationships and wish to explore thoughts, beliefs and patterns that wind them up in the same, repetitive relational dynamic. This kind of relationship therapy is a process of self-awareness and self-discovery; one that leads to improved relational and emotional intelligence.
Healthy, secure functioning relationships are possible and promote our well-being and our longevity. Year over year, research shows that more than money or career, close relationships are the most important indicator of overall happiness.
