Grishma Dahal
I often think of life and relationships like a plant, which require on-going care and attention, and can encounter hardships and trials through the different seasons of life.
Life challenges, including relationship issues, stress, trauma, and unresolved emotions can act as weeds, entangling the roots of our interconnected mental and physical-well being. When these weeds are not tended to, they create internal imbalance, manifesting as issues such as mental illness, physical illness, disconnection, or a sense of feeling stuck in your personal/relationship growth.
Using a holistic, and client-centered perspective, I aim to create a culturally inclusive, safe and nurturing environment to explore the roots of these personal/relationship challenges and empower you with the tools needed for transformation. Utilizing an integrated approach, I draw upon various therapeutic techniques, including EFT (emotion focused therapy), Somatic Experiencing, DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), mindfulness, and psychodynamic theory, to meet the unique needs and preference of each client. I am passionate about creating a space where we can hold space for what you’re experiencing, and through understanding and compassion, move towards healing.
A quote that has always stuck with me is when Einstein explained that “energy can neither be created or destroyed, it can only be transferred from one state to another”.
In the same way, I envision therapy as embarking on a process of emotional metamorphosis- transforming the weight of emotional burdens into understanding, acceptance and healing.
